Visa Rejection – What to Do?

Your application for a Canadian visa got refused, what to do now?

First, let’s dispel the main myth: that if you have a visa refusal, there is no chance that they will ever issue you a visa. It is not true. Our long-standing practice shows that in the most cases, refusal of a Canadian visa is a fixable situation. And a lot of our students can confirm this.

When you have your visa refused, you can and should always take a look at what went wrong, work on it and try again. In this case, the chance that you will eventually get your visa or study permit approved is significantly higher. In the practice of our immigration department, there were many cases when students came after getting multiple refuse of their visas, but after applying again, their applications for visas and permits got approved.

Generally, some of the main reasons for refusal of a Canadian visa are the following:

–          Not enough personal assets and weak financial status
–          Weak ties with the country of residence
–          Incomplete package of the documents
–          Motivation and the purpose of the trip to Canada are not properly explained
–          Incorrectly prepared documents

Here are a few points to pay attention to after your application for a Canadian visa got refused:

If you prepared a package of documents by yourself, and received a refusal as the result, when you are going to reapply, it is very advisable to contact a specialist. If you are applying for a study permit, you need not just a visa specialist or just a company that provides visa support, but an agency specializing in education in Canada. Only such an organization has experience working with the international students and knows what to pay attention to when preparing the documents for a study permit. If the reason for the refusal is that you did not convince an immigration officer that this program is necessary for you or for your career growth – the agency will offer you the best option.

After a visa refusal, we always recommend ordering a detailed explanation of a refusal or so-called CAIPS details or ATIP.  The Computer Assisted Immigration Processing System (CAIPS) is a computer system used by all Canadian visa offices to handle visa applications. t includes information regarding all stages of your visa application and it includes comments made by visa officers in regard to your application. While in a refusal letter you see only a very general explanation, CAIPS details help you to understand the exact reasons the immigration officers had when refusing your application. To make such a request under the Access to Information Act or the Privacy Act, you must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada or an individual or corporation currently present in Canada, that is why your immigration consultant representative can make such a request on your behalf. Usually, it takes up to 1 month for the CAIPS details to be delivered to you.

If you objectively understand that at the moment you cannot improve anything about your application, do not rush and submit the same package of documents immediately after the refusal. With an identical application, your chances of obtaining a visa are very small and this will only aggravate your situation. Contact us – the experts who know how to act in such situations, we will weigh the pros and cons, develop an optimal strategy and eliminate all the possible errors that were made with the self-submission.

Getting the visa refusal for the reasons mentioned above can always be avoided if one contact the specialists beforehand and conduct the necessary preparation of the documents. Therefore, if you are only planning to apply for a Canadian visa, try to make sure that we do not subsequently have to work with your refusal, consult us in advance!

And most importantly: Do not give up and always remember that Woori Education is always on your side and we are here to help you in any situation!
